Aesthetic condition
The VWR vortex mixer is a laboratory device designed to rapidly mix liquid samples in tubes, flasks, or microtubes by orbital motion. It is available in analog (manual) or digital (with speed/time displays) versions. The analog model allows speed control from 300 up to ≈ 3,200 rpm depending on the voltage (≈ 3,200 RPM at 120 V, ≈ 2,500 RPM at 230 V), with a 4.9 mm orbit. It has two operating modes: "touch" mode (activated by pressing the "cup head") and continuous mode (for prolonged stirring or using accessories). The analog device is robust, often made of corrosion-resistant material, with a heavy base for stability. The digital model (e.g. Cat. 10153-842) adds a programmable timer (e.g. from 1 second up to long durations), an LED or digital display allowing precise adjustment of speed and time, with automatic shutoff if the time is reached. Typical dimensions are around 19.7 × 15.2 × 13.97 cm (7.75 × 6 × 5.5 in), weight ≈ 5.3 kg (≈ 11.7 lb). Power supply depends on the model: 120 V 50/60 Hz or 230 V depending on the country, power ≈ 150 W, current about 1.2 A at 120 V or 0.6 A at 230 V. Use is intended for ambient conditions of 4 to 40 °C, relative humidity 20-85% non-condensing.
