The Thermo Scientific NanoDrop One is a reference UV-Vis microvolume spectrophotometer for molecular biology. It measures volumes of 0.5 to 2 µL directly on the fiber-optic pedestal, without cuvettes or consumables. The spectral range covers 190 to 840 nm using a pulsed xenon source and a 2048-pixel CCD detector, with a resolution of 1.8 nm. The optical path length self-adjusts from 0.03 to 1 mm to cover a wide range of concentrations (up to 15,000 ng/µL for dsDNA). The instrument features a 7-inch touchscreen and Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, allowing for standalone operation without a computer. Predefined applications cover DNA, RNA, proteins (A280, Bradford, BCA, Lowry, Pierce 660), nucleotides, and bacterial cell culture density.
