IKA MR-1 Microplate Shaker

The IKA MR-1 is a high-performance digital benchtop magnetic stirrer designed to provide precise stirring and robustness in laboratory environments. It operates without a heating function, making it particularly suitable for applications where only movement, and not thermal control, is required. The speed is continuously adjustable, from stop to a maximum (e.g. 1000 rpm for the Midi model, or 600 rpm for the Maxi), allowing the intensity to be modulated according to the viscosity or sensitivity of the liquid. The unit is equipped with a flat, durable stainless steel housing, designed to last in demanding working conditions. It has an anti-jam motor that ensures stable stirring even under load or with long stirrer bars. A timer allows either continuous operation or timed stirring cycles according to the user's needs. The digital LED display provides a clear speed reading, and USB and RS-232 interfaces allow the unit to be connected to a computer or remote control system for piloting or data collection. Depending on the MR-1 version, the maximum amount of liquid that can be stirred is up to 50 liters for the "Midi" model, or 150 liters for the "Maxi" model, making it suitable for both small research volumes and larger batches. The work surface (stainless steel plate) is generous, stable, and easy to clean, and the unit is designed to be placed on a benchtop while being environmentally resistant (ambient temperatures from +5 to +40 °C, high relative humidity, splash-proof).
