The VWR VWB2 12 water bath is a precision instrument for laboratories, designed to heat and maintain liquids at stable temperatures from +5°C above ambient temperature up to ~99°C. It features digital control with three preset temperatures for ease of repeated use. Its thermal stability is ±0.2°C, ensuring reliable homogeneity for your protocols. For safety and sample protection, it includes an adjustable over-temperature alarm and dry-run protection (automatic shut-off in case of insufficient water level). It is equipped with a countdown timer from 1 to 999 minutes with an audible alarm for managing heating times. The vessel is constructed of double-walled stainless steel (stainless steel inner wall, coated steel outer wall), which improves heat retention. The 12-liter model (VWB2 12) has internal dimensions of approximately 31 × 28 × 13 cm (306 × 281 × 125 mm for the bath) and weighs about 6.2 kg. It operates with a heating power of approximately 0.8 kW. This water bath is of the "unstirred" type: it does not have a forced circulation system. It is compatible with the use of heat transfer beads as an alternative to water, via a dedicated mode that can be activated in the menu (but in this case, the maximum temperature is limited). Models larger than 5 liters have a drain system (tap) to facilitate emptying the bath. A transparent polycarbonate lid is provided (hinged on larger models) to limit evaporation at high temperatures. Optional accessories such as special drain plugs, trays, baskets and poles are available to optimize use according to your needs.
